Review of APVMA cost recovery arrangements

5 August 2011

The APVMA has commenced a review of its cost recovery arrangements in line with the Australian Government Cost Recovery Guidelines (external site).

This new Cost Recovery Impact Statement (CRIS) will focus on compliance with the policy framework that was determined by the signatories to the National Registration Scheme and endorsed by the Primary Industries Standing Committee in 2002.

The CRIS will also seek to incorporate a range of reforms flowing from the Better Regulation of Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals (subject to the passage of the associated legislation).

It is anticipated that consultation on the draft CRIS will occur in late 2011 / early 2012.  A final CRIS will then discuss the issues raised by stakeholders during consultation on the draft CRIS.
